Catholic Wedding Document Requirements in the Philippines + FREE Printable Checklist

Let’s talk about the tedious and less artsy side of preparing for your wedding — the legal documents.Since we’re one of those couples who are having a short engagement, we’re pretty much pressured to accomplish everything in just a short span of time. If you’re also planning to have a short one, then, you should know that you are the kind of person who doesn’t break when pressure sets in. You wouldn’t want to be a Bridezilla.

As for us, we know we are up for the challenge because we both are engineers. We just want to make things work, no matter how we do it, just as long as the QA’s aren’t looking. Kidding.

So, we are getting married in Chapel on the Hill in Batulao. They have given us a list of their requirements. Your church will give you the list too, but every Catholic wedding needs pretty much the same requirements so you can use my list. You can download a free printable of the wedding document requirements at the end of this post. :)

This is a weekly blog link up by The Nectar Collective which I always join because: (1) I need to transfer the buzzing things from my brain to somewhere else. (2) I need to get things done and (3) I need to get to my goals — retiring early — the fastest way possible!

How are things lately?I’m just kind of bummed that my cousin can’t (99%) go to my wedding. Remind me again why UP moved their school calendar? Ugh. Weddings should be a special event. Attending it should be a valid excuse. We’re not giving up on her fight. I want her to be there. :( She was the one who screamed for me when she knew that I just got engaged.

We went to Laguna for the weekend. Had my bridal gown sewn! What else? Oh, yes. Work. When will it ever end?

I’ve been productive though. Here’s what I did this week.

Succulents 101

Hello there succulents! Bought home 3! #vscocam #vscocommunity #vscophile #vscopinas

And I’ve got a new hobby. Just like that.I bought home 3 succulents — an aloe aristata, a crassula and an echeveria dondo — while scouting for flowers for ze wedding.

Lol. Speaking like a succulent guru. I actually googled them. And mind you, they may not be the species that I think they are. There are just so many succulents out there.

I know, succulents have been a rave for what, 2 to 3 years now, but I have only purchased my own just today when I went to Dangwa, the flower city of Manila.

Hey, how are you?

Me? I’m beat. We went to Divisoria to check out some seamstress, but the price isn’t right for me. I wouldn’t spend much money on dress if I just have to wear it for one day, even if it’s my bridal gown. I need to do more research and I need more creativity. I’ll figure it out soon! We also went to Dangwa to check out the flowers. I had a fun time checking them out! I love some. I even bought succulents! Weeee! I’ve been wanting to own one. I bought 3. When I posted the pics on fb and ig, people asked me where I bought them. I got brochures from Dangwa, but I doubt I’ll be needing them. I’m thinking of making my own bouquet, even those of the entourage. Including at the church, the arch and on the reception. I have seen the arrangements and I am afraid they wouldn’t get my bouquet peg. Mom is going to be here and my cousin will be here so I think I’m just going to do it. Just need some research and practice. :)
